DESCRIPTION:Kawandi are traditional quilts of the Siddi people from India\, they are typically made from sari scraps patched together from the outside in. \nIn this one day workshop you will learn how to make your own beautiful kawandi with gorgeous patchwork prints\, wovens and solids. \nStitching is very organic and relaxing\, giving the finished quilt lots of texture. Picking each bit of fabric to complete your quilt can be equally meditative and challenging\, like working on a jigsaw puzzle. \nA class kit is provided with everything you need to complete a small 30cm quilt\, ensuring you learn all the techniques to finish in one day. \nThat’s right\, unlike regular quilts\, kawandi are pieced and quilted at the same time!
