DESCRIPTION:Lorena Uriarte – Ring Cycles \nLorena has the permission from Lessa Siegele to teach a workshop based on her Ring Cycles quilt. We will explore different options for making this fantastic pattern into your own beautiful quilt. Use low volume backgrounds with brights\, colourful large scale prints or make a gorgeous two colour quilt. \nDay 1 would be cutting\, making 9 patches and choosing middle hexagon method eg. Appliqued flower\, pieced star\, or plain hexagon. Day 2 is learning how to sew your quilt together. \nCloser to the date you will receive a detailed requirements list. Lorena has used and recommend Marti Michell set H and has also had setting triangles made up in acrylic templates. These are entirely optional (and will be available for purchase)\, and really helpful if you intend to make a big quilt. \n10am – 4pm \n2 day workshop \nSaturdays \n16 February \n16 March \n$140 tuition \nPattern and fabric are required in addition to this \n$70 payable on booking \n$35 payable on each of the class days

This gives them enough variety of fabrics to explore value and tone.\nFor the 75” x 75” quilt Lorena recommends purchasing 3 metres of the neutral background\, this yardage includes the flying geese border for the 75” x 75” quilt.\nShe has layouts available for Cot\, Twin and Large sizes. The largest quilt requires 16 blocks. The smallest is 6 blocks.\nThe amount of fabric varies accordingly.\nShe will provide patterns and templates to use for specific blocks.\n  \nThe fabric/ requirements are in addition to the tuition fee.
