SUMMARY:Ring Cycles 2 Day Workshop - Ballarat
DESCRIPTION:Swings + Roundabouts by Lorena Uriarte \nI am thrilled to have the permission from Lessa Siegele to teach a workshop based on her Ring Cycles quilt. We will explore different options for making this fantastic pattern into your own beautiful quilt. Use low volume backgrounds with brights\, colourful large scale prints or make a gorgeous two colour quilt. \n \nClass size will be limited to 16 people. The class will be held off site from Cotton Factory\, with full details emailed to all participants. \nDay 1 would be cutting\, making 9 patches and choosing middle hexagon method eg. Appliqued flower\, pieced star\, or plain hexagon. Day 2 is learning how to sew your quilt together. \nCloser to the date you will receive a detailed requirements list. I used and recommend Marti Michell set H and I’ve also had setting triangles made up in acrylic templates. These are entirely optional (and will be available for purchase)\, and really helpful if you intend to make a big quilt. \nIf you want to simply learn the techniques and not make a huge quilt\, cardboard templates will be sufficient. \nTuition\, your pattern and catering are all included in your class fee.

DESCRIPTION:Opal Essence\, Lorena Uriarte \n{TWO CLASSES NOW AVAILABLE – contact Alison directly at Cotton Factory} \nOne day Workshop at Cotton Factory\, Ballarat. \nClass size will be limited to 14 people. The class will be held off site from Cotton Factory (as that’s just too squeezy for our lovely space)\, with full details emailed to all participants. \nThis is Lorena’s original pattern. In this one day class you will learn the techniques to complete this quilt in a variety of sizes. Quilt blocks can be appliqued or machine pieced and then machine or hand pieced together. \nAcrylic template sets will be included in your class fee. Class notes including templates and a colouring sheet to assist with quilt design will also provided. \nSpecific techniques taught in this class: Needle turn applique\, machine pieced curves and y-seams. \nTuition\, pattern\, templates\, drinks\, lunch\, coffee and tea are all included in your class fee. \nSpecific class requirements will be sent closer to the class date.
