DESCRIPTION:Join me for this exciting event\, the EPP Palooza\, on Sunday\, June 25th\, from 10am to 3:30pm at Gallery 76! \nImmerse yourself in the world of hand-stitched goodness as you learn the art of fussy cutting and English paper piecing (EPP) for both curves and geometric shapes. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience\, this workshop offers something for everyone. \nDuring the workshop\, you can choose to make a cushion\, start a quilt\, or bring along an item of clothing to embellish with EPP. Whatever you decide\, rest assured that everyone will receive a complete tool kit for their chosen project\, ensuring you have everything you need to dive right in. \nPlus\, each participant will receive a special limited edition Hexie Name Badge kit to make for yourself or a friend! \nThe cost to attend this EPP Palooza event is $165\, which includes a scrumptious morning tea and refreshments to keep you energized throughout the day. We will also provide all the necessary materials for cutting\, basting\, and sewing. DESCRIPTION:Join me for a fun and educational one-day patchwork workshop on Wednesday\, 7 June\, 2023\, from 10 am to 3:30 pm at Gallery 76 on 76 Queen Street\, Concord West. \nThis workshop is perfect for those who are passionate about patchwork and want to learn how to create unique designs using the beautiful Winding Ways block\, also known as the Wheel of Mystery. \nDuring the workshop\, we will discover how to create a scrappy look that focuses on colour and value to make those secondary designs pop. We will also learn how to make it modern by focusing on the principles of negative space\, minimalism\, and strong graphic lines. For those who want to take it up a notch\, we will also cover fussy cutting techniques that can add an exciting twist to your designs. \nThroughout the day\, you will learn tips for accurate cutting and straightforward piecing\, and you will make enough blocks to create a cushion or a small quilt. If you’re feeling ambitious\, keep going to make a bed-sized quilt. We will provide all the equipment you need\, including cutting mats\, rotary cutters\, pressing stations\, templates in a variety of sizes from 6” to 24”\, and a variety of solid and print fabrics to play with. \nTo participate\, bring your sewing machine with a 1/4” patchwork foot or hand piecing supplies\, fine piecing cotton (e.g.\, Aurifil 50wt)\, a piece of batting or flannel to use as a design wall (optional)\, and any special fabric you would like to include. \nThe workshop fee is $165\, and it includes morning tea and refreshments. You can also preorder acrylic templates to make 6” or 12” blocks\, Roxanne’s Glue Baste-it\, or a 28mm rotary cutter to take home with you. \nDon’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn in this lovely gallery setting and create beautiful designs with like-minded individuals.
