Opal Essence plus Pink Champagne
Inspired by traditional tumbling block patterns, and with the addition of playful bubbles and balls of colour and movement, this quilt marks Lorena’s move into quilt design. The smaller baby quilt (right), Pink Champagne, is a variation of the same pattern but suited for the modern baby and was made during a machine piecing demonstration at the 2014 Sydney Quilt Show.

A symbol recomposed
Inspired by Chuck Nohara’s Symbol Quilt and made using the quilt block patterns in her incredible book, Chuck Nohara’s 2001 New Patchwork Patterns. The project was co-ordinated by Lorena over the span of a year and was made with Maree Blanchard, Kerry Brack and Loloma Wren.
